From the end of November, Wernigerode's old town and market will be transformed into a fairytale magic land. The smell of freshly baked lard biscuits, hot mulled wine and punch and crunchy glazed apples lures you from small wooden houses. Wernigerode's market has already received the award, the most beautiful market in Central Germany. The half-timbered houses and the city centre, which is full of history, provide the special flair.

Close to Wernigerode there are other beautiful Christmas markets. The winter forest in Goslar is special and magical. Due to the intensive coniferous tree scent the visitors feel like in a real forest.
