Wernigerode looks back on more than 170 years of chocolate-making tradition. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were 17 chocolate shops in the town center, and 1,500 people worked in chocolate factories. This remarkable town has always been a place where the sweetest desires were awakened. A visit to chocoZEIT in the heart of the historic old town will transport you back to the golden age of chocolate. From October 27 to 31, 2021, the scent of chocolate will once again drift through Wernigerode’s old town. As every autumn, chocolate lovers from all over the world are drawn to the “Colorful Town in the Harz Mountains” to enjoy and admire the “food of the gods” in all its variety and picturesque surroundings. This year once again, chocolatiers and manufacturers will tempt visitors with exclusive sweet delicacies from around the world.
