On April 9, the Bürger- und Miniaturenpark Wernigerode will begin its new season.
Created for the 2006 State Garden Show in Wernigerode, the 15-hectare landscape park now known as the Bürgerpark Wernigerode has become a popular destination for visitors of all ages.Directly at the entrance is the miniature park “Little Harz,” which was created over more than 12 years as part of a project supported by the Municipal Employment Agency. More than 100 employees designed the various models based on photographs and drawings. Among the miniature attractions are St. Martini Church in Halberstadt, Wernigerode Castle, the Collegiate Church in Quedlinburg, and even the Brocken in miniature form. After your journey through “Little Harz,” the Bürgerpark awaits with its 60 themed gardens spread across two circular walking routes. At the start of the season, more than 180,000 early-blooming flowers welcome spring throughout the park. The peony garden and the seasonal flower beds near the entrance are especially popular, delighting visitors with their abundant blossoms.Visitors can also look forward to the park’s charming young animals. In the meadow just behind the main entrance, ponies and their foals greet guests, while the petting zoo behind the old shepherd’s house is home to many friendly animals that can be stroked and admired up close. After an eventful day, you can relax in the park restaurant with a delicious ice cream, coffee and cake, or perhaps enjoy a hearty snack. With beautiful views over the park grounds and the Harz landscape, it is the perfect way to end a wonderful day.A visit is well worth it!Further information can be found on the website: Bürger- und Miniaturenpark Wernigerode
