Talent Monument
The Open Monument Day® is Germany’s largest cultural event. Since 1993, it has been coordinated nationwide by the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz (German Foundation for Monument Protection), which operates under the patronage of the Federal President. Together with local organizers, the event demonstrates on this day how sustainable monument preservation works and what impact it has. Each year, Open Monument Day® is held under a different theme. This year’s motto, ‘Talent Monument,’ highlights the exceptional qualities that define the historical witnesses of our past: What makes a crooked half-timbered house such an eye-catcher? Why does a simple forest chapel continually attract visitors? And why does an unassuming concrete building from the 1960s still have its own charm? On September 10, 2023, thousands of monuments across Germany will once again open their doors, allowing visitors to look behind the scenes. Join in when the doors open for Open Monument Day® and reveal the true talents of monuments. We warmly invite you to engage with our cultural heritage. Our partner hotel, the Hotel Erbprinzenpalais, with its remarkable architecture, will also open its doors to visitors on this special day.
